The 1963-84 Intermediate and Concert Choirs were directed by Mr. Melvin Simmons. They presented a pop Concert at Lakeshore Special School and presented a program for the student body during the second semester. During Christmas the choirs per- formed with the band for P.T.S.A. in addition to carol- ing throughout the school. The choirs participated in the Louisiana Music Educators Association Solo Ensem- ble Festival in February where they received superior ratings. THE PERFECT 10 The 1983-84 Cheerleading Squad led the Southwood Cowboy tradition of spirit and pride. The Perfect 10 did in fact have a perfect year. They attend- ed camp at SMU, in Dallas, and received such awards as the Spirit Stick , the Super Squad Award, and numerous daily awards. In Southpark Cheerleader Competition they won 3rd place. Pep Rallies were remembered by such chants as SHS Rocks the House. Reflections of the past year bring such memories as: a brand new 10 member squad: a brand new sponsorg van trips to Baton Rouge to baseball state playoff game.
