Art, Key Clubs Conolude Eventful, Busy Year The Key Club, led by Yolanda Sparks, acts as a service group to Southwest as well as the community. The mem- bers, sponsored by Mr. Ed York, visited the Wedgwood Nursing Home. The Art Club had a busy year sponsoring an Art Fair selling ceramics, ornaments, and Christmas Southwest students. wreaths. The 21 members took part in creating macrame, pottery, and paintings. Mrs. Bettie Walton sponsored this group which strived to promote the artistic abilities of ART, KEY CLUBS 155

Connell, Rickey Swindellg Row Three: jeff McEwin, Ruben Rodriguez, Timmy Tyra, Eddie Cooley. Clubs Inform Students ICT is a class taught by Mr. Sam Wheat and is offered to juniors and seniors. This class allows a student to attend school part of the day, while working the latter half of the day. These various jobs prepare for a future career and class credit is also earned. The Student Advisory Committee, sponsored by Ms, Meek and Miss Wilson have an active membership of 18. The President is Yolanda Sparks and the Vice President is Mikaela Wade. The organization takes part in devel- oping more activities to eliminate minority group isolation, as well as serving as a hu- man relations group. Choir Has inning Year The A Capella Choir of Southwest has actively participated in many contests, local and abroad. In the fall, the choir had All-District tryouts.
