i CLASS OF 1970 Our class, as every other graduating class in the past, has many memories of the six years spent at Simley. There were times of play and work, victory and defeat, joy and sadness. Our class has also felt the pain of tragedy as two of our classmates, Glenn Boog and Richard Raymond, died unexpectedly before reaching their Senior year. Perhaps years from now, while watching a movie about high school students, we will remember with a laugh some of our many experiences. Senior Social, in particular, will never be forgotten. The novel Black Like lVle moved many into understanding the many problems our world faces today. Economy was introduced to our class this year. Among other things, we learned that our supply is not large enough for lVlr. Nlergens to own a Cadillac and the demand is not great enough for lVlr. Bot- temiller to get rid of his Rambler. The English class spent many weeks studying Chaucer, Shakespeare, and the novel The Catcher ln The Rye . The last of these enabled many to look more deeply into themselves. The years have been trying, often depressing, yet in the eyes of most, very rewarding. Time will pass and people will forget. Classmates will no longer have names, but will merely remain a memory, a face, or a voice heard somewhere long ago. lt is our hope that the class of 1970 will always be remembered by the people at Simley. This drunken bus driver CAFS Tal- ent Showb is the same young man who has, in the choir, remained a mountain in a prairie of flatness. He has sat with a full waste basket over his head and succeeded in lip-sinking the words to an entire Bill Cosby album. Something should surely tell us that after graduation, we will not have heard the last of Roger. If he continues to possess his outgoing nature, he will no doubt lead a very interesting lite.
