Why did ll have to raln today? The 1959 season proved to be a very success ful one for the girls field hockey team Of a total of nine games played, three games were won, and the other six were tied Betty Ander- son scored four goals throughout the season and Sue Larson Carol Borgatti and Linda Snow made one each. ln the final moments of the exciting Millbury game the forward line, consisting of Carol Bor- gatti Sue Larson ,lan Bartlett, Sandy Carlson and ,Ioan Belanger backed up by Betty Ander- son Maurcen Fleming Linda Snow, Carol Bart- lett Elaine Sampson and Donna Long, rallied to score the tying goal that protected our unde- feated record. An expression of thanks and gratitude go to Miss Chase not only for her excellent coaching, but also for the inspiration that led to an unde- feated season. The managers, Claudia Scott and Judy Hutchings, were most efficient and the serv- ices they rendered were greatly appreciated. Under the leadership of Ellen Breen and Sandy Carlson the next field hockey season is sure to be a successful one.
