Foreign Trade Walk together, talk together, all ye peoples of the Earth, then and only then shall ye have peace. This has been the basis for the Ameri- can Field Service program as it attempts to pro- mote better world understanding by sending stu- dents abroad. This same theme was clearly understood by the members of Shawnee Mission East's Interna- tional Club. The club acted as a home base for the six foreign exchange students attending East as well as provided an opportunity for students to learn about foreign cultures. International Club sponsored several activi- ties this year such as the disco, which proved to be very profitable, and the student-disc iockey basketball game. The money earned from these activities was used to help pay expenses to bring foreign students to East. Linda Goldman, president, and Mrs. Jennie Teel, sponsor, suc- cessfully organized these activities in addition to planning meetings, programs, and numerous parties. Members of the club had fun as they gained valuablerexperience and knowledge of foreign countries through relationships with exchange students. A smile is the same in every language.
