Year after year buses empty their loads each morning, X and people stream in waves into the hallways and classrooms. To the rhythm of bells, tides of people wash in and out of the rooms and corridors and finally back to the buses, leaving the building empty. Carl Sandburg in his poem Skyscraper says, lt is the men and women, boys and girls so poured in and out all day that give the building a soul of dreams and thoughts and memories. As each indi- vidual forms a part of the mass, so each personality contributes to the f whole of Seagoville High School's soul - that abstract thing we call school spirit. The Spirit Staff presents this abstract collection of people and events milled our school year. lt is an abstract of YESTERDAYS. r P f ,gf 15.4 si CONTENTS' FOREWORD - 71-lEME ADMIIVIQTEA NON ' FA6'UZ7Y JR HIGH UMQQEQ FEEQHMEA! A Q V V Y x kxn to Dear Faculty and Students: Four years ago the class of 1971 launched their journey here as freshmen, both on ventures of aspira- tion for growth and service. Their past four years have been marked by illustrious growth and progress. They are to be commended for the fruits of their efforts. The mastering of the many complexities of leadership has become actuality during their tenure as students at Seagoville High School. Leadership is not moral, neither it is immoral. lt is amoral. Lead- ers can be good, or bad. It is the direction and outcomes of leadership that count. Immortality is the trademark of the wholesome leader, one who leads to a better and nobler life. An idea, an attitude, an aspiration planted in the minds of men will continue to bear fruit with each new generation. The final test of a leader is that he leaves behind him in other men the conviction and the will to carry on. It is my belief that the class of 1971 has left us such a will and conviction. They will continue to serve as I f f' , ,,,...-.-.,-an -f ------ V V guidelines for each new class at S, H, S, AQQIS' MNT PEINCIPAZ MR QMUV I MOQZEV JR Prairie View A 84 M, B, S, , East Texas State University, M.Ed. Dear Faculty and Students: lt gives me great satisfaction to be a part of such a fine Educational Organization that exists at Seagoville High School. This is truly a rewarding experience for me. Your sense of pride and devotion in working toward worthwhile and meaningful goals shows progress in the direction of maturity. Progress will eventually lead to suc- cess, happiness, and security. To the graduating seniors of 1971, may you continue to gather the necessary tools to accomplish your goals. To build a solid foundation, means being self productive citizens. U GOTTA WANNA. Dear Students and Faculty: This year has truly been a successful and rewarding one. Giant strides were made toward more understanding and cooperation between students, faculty, and administra- tion. Undoubtedly this atmosphere on the campus created an environment more condu cive to learning. My hope is that we constantly continue to improve this relationship.
