NAUTILUS 1974 Without a doubt, the staff of the 1974 NAUTILUS could relate a lot of sad and strange tales. From deadlines that passed in the night to being outside Glendale High and wondering where the hell it was. There was Lane's budding romance, Ruth's job, Gary's control over the rest of the staff, Lawrence's -running commentary on the girls, Lena with Dawn at the beach, constantly, Skip helping Law- rence go 127.6 on the S.M. freeway, Mark's daily second period jaunts to the wetsuits, both Chris' playing when they shouldn't have, Patty, Patti, Kim, Sue, Betty, Cathy and Cindy for just being a bunch of Sergeantettes, John and his messenger service to and from Print Shop, Karen and Margretha keeping Ramada Inn in business, Cathy and her undying fear of having her picture taken, Rich's sports sports sports, Melissa and Mike not doing a whole lot, Phil, Cathy, Cindy and Ed the johnny come latelys, Pringle good for nothing except being in the way, and janey, ever faithful to Iohn. This will be one year and one yearbook that will not easily be forgotten by the people that have built it. VVe've stayed up late to make deadlines, and we've stayed up late to miss them, we've gone from San Diego to Santa Bar- bara, and almost to Fresno following the school and its activities. I But looking at the book in a realistic sense, its easy to see that putting together a yearbook isn't an easy task. In September, many of the staff had never worked on a yearbook before, and were literally starting bl-ind. But the days, weeks, and months of pressure and confusion event- ually passed, and the staff became finely tuned and highly skilled at what they were doing. So as the deadlines passed, the 1974 Nautilus went from film, pages and blank copy sheete to 2.16 pages of creative fountain and individuality. Editor-in-Chief .
