By Participating in Team Sports During the fall months of the school year, seven- teen active girls spent their afternoons playing field hockey, practicing to play other schools in com- petition. The girls, under the supervision of Mrs. Dolores Mclnerney, played on the school grounds and readied themselves to meet other schools. Tompkins, Volleyball is one of the most popular of girls' sports. Under the guidance of Miss Klaskin, the Honor Team competed successfully against teams from other schools such as Carle Place and Baldwin. Some girls excel in one phase of the game, such as serving, spiking, or blocking. But the girls learned that teamwork is the most important factor in winning. On Sportsnight the Grey team won the volleyball game, a keen test of ability. Gail Alpert returns a volley.
