Freshmen Him' llefresllmenl CO-OPERATION MARKS OFFICER RELATIONSHIP At its organization meeting the Freshman Class selected Robert Stevens as president, Joyce Bokonyi as vice president, Shirley Golob as secretary, and Paul Morbit as treasurer. Serving as class adviser was Paul A, Wissler, one of the home room teachers, Though still officially listed as part of the Junior I-Iigh School, ninth grade students responded to the title Freshmen Also another important change was noted. Members ot the class began to branch into ditterent courses. No longer were the same subiects required for all, and at one time during the year the class outnumbered all others with an enrollment of I53. Sixteen members of the Freshman Class were accepted for the Band, and eleven were chosen for the mixed chorus. As one might expect, several ninth graders formed the nucleus ot iunior high athletics and three from the class made the cheer- leading squad. lt is also noted with pride that Karen Karnoslcy who won third prize in blouse competition at the State Farm Show was a member of this class.
