12 THE M without giving S0lll0llllll,Q' to the .I llI1lO1'S lll order that they might 1'0Ill0IlllJ0l' 11s. XY1- might give them several things but we have decided to give them our most be- loved treasure. Room Tp we hope that their lives inside it will he as llilppy as ours have lJ00ll. Speaking of fame! Just liste11 to this: The Pennsylvania xvill' History Conimis- sio11 is prepariiig a record of all the activi- ties of tl1is state during the war. Since tl1ey XVillll a narrative telling of all the work ll011G by tl1e Punxs'y schools, the Senior English students are at work, pre- paring tl1e article for ll19l11. Our school is sending four representa- tives to take part i11 tl1e scholastic con- tests which are to be held at Pitt Pniversi- ty 011 May 10. The contestants are Hazel Bartow for essay writing, Arthur Corey for declamation: Ja111es Prothero for ex- temporaiieous speaking, illlfl Cy11thia Druniniond for history. XVQ feel sure they will all bring back medals. Although we. the Seniors. look forward to a future with hope Zllltl promise, yet as we look back o11 our H. S. days, we have a feeling of SZ1Cl11GSS because we 111ust leave Punxs'y High forever. XYe do 11ot like to thi11k tl1at P. H. S. will be 4'yours in- stead of ours, tl1at others will fill our places as well if 11ot better lllilll we Zllltl that tl1e daily round of work i11 P. H. S. will go on without us. However, the laws of Progress de1na11d that we leave but we are thankful tl1ey do 11ot demand tl1at we forget our dear old high. XVe hope P. H. S. will 11ot soon forget the class of '19, Although the class of 1919 Must all leave at this time, They'll oft wander back to P. H. S. IRROR For tl1e sake of auld lang syne. ..i.....- Room S House cleaning time has come. The pupils of Room S have actually cleaned their desks. Many thi11gs have lJ661l brought to light. Speaking of IIOXV scientific discoveries Clifford Runibarger has discovered that two feet make a yard. Clifford dislikes to be contrary to the laws of measurement but he ca11 prove his assertion. Ask him. Poor lid Scott has been compelled to find a 11ew shelf for his books because his SGZ1lll12llQ has filled his desk with old Mir- rors, stationary. business papers, and many varieties of books. Tom Robinson came to school o11e day with his eye lashes burned. Evidently he had been playing with fire. Moral-Little boys stay away from fire. Room C At this 111116 next year, unless fate in- tervenes, the Seniors of this room will pro- bably be enterprising stenographers and bookkeepers. The Juniors Qwe hopeb will 21diV3110Q to the diginfied position of Sen- iors. 'lf we want John Pantall's dignity pre- served till the end of the year, it might be well for us to provide him with a chai11 from which he can it fall. All contribu- tions gladly accepted. Clara Hawk and Clara Thompson were sent to Squire Rowan 's office to take testi- mony at the hearing of a. case. They felt highly honored, but they are now willing to divide honors with a11yo11e who will help them decipher their notes.
