GRADE Xl-B LYNDA ISARYK — L ynda, who is blessed with long eye¬ lashes, enjoys fighting with the opposite sex, especially Doug. Amb. — Phy. Ed. Instructor. U.F. — lady wrestler. EDWARD JAMES — Our Macdonald nature-boy professes that he stays in on week ends, but we know differently. F.P. — giving the girls a thrill by living. J.J. — a bachelor. VAUGHN KIRKLAND—Vaughn is the curly-haired Scot of XIB. He plans to become a hermit but his mind is now on Margie, stamp collecting, and school. CHARLES McGOWAN — Charles is proficient in oral punctuation, and XIB has no doubts about his writing ability. However, he maintains that a stitch in time saves nine “Pheut” (translated — period). BETTY ANN McLENNAN — Betty Ann is an industrious brunette who hails from Bridge Road. She is XIB’s mad scientist and is a member of the Science Club. Amb. — Pathologist. DENNIS OWENS — Dennis is a brain even though he never does homework. He is on the Tatler Staff and in the Drama Club. Amb. — Journalist. U.F. — paper-boy. F.P.— sitting in Dick’s. RON PETERS—Ron is XIB’s motorcycle maniac who hails from the country. Ron is an average student who is rarely heard from, but enjoys a chuckle with the rest of the class. F.P. — milking cows. BOB RICKEY — Bob is our ‘mad’ mechanic and spends most of his time working on his 29 Nash. He also plays offensive guard for the Trojans. F.S. — Don’t panic. Amb. — undecided. LINDA SAURETTE — Our oratorical winner enjoys curl¬ ing and 4H work. Amb. — University. F.S. — “Yes, Mr. McIntosh but . . .” F.P. — Promoting the ‘city’ of Poplar Point. CAROL SING — adds spark to any room but XIB has her. Amb. — a lawyer just like Daddy. However, opening windows will be this nature girl’s fate! MICHAEL SLUKYNSKY — Baseball, hockey, and football are his interests. Aside from studies the farm, and pool, Mike and his friends bomb along country roads. F.S. — “Hey, Janice!” CATHY SMITH — is XIB’s import from France with a happy-go-marriage look. F.P. — Ric. Amb. — to pass one exam other than French. F.S. — Ric! Comera Shij JANICE TUFFORD — Inside school, quiet and demure, Outside school, don’t be so sure! She’s a good sport, a true friend. What else counts in the end? WENDY TUFFORD — This ‘Dale Evans’ is Betty Ann Roy’s successor. Our horse-woman appropriately hails from the country. She can be found harmonizing with Graham in the halls. JO-ANNE VINCELETTE — a member of the Pats basket¬ ball team, and the girls’ volley-ball team who also plays softball. F.P. — Gossiping with the girls. 26

GRADE Xl-B ADAM BROWN—Adam is an ardent Air Cadet and curler. He likes to spend his summers water-skiing. F.P. — driv¬ ing his lather’s Galaxie. U.F. — auto-wrecking. MARGARET BECK — Margaret, the champion finger-nail chewer of XIB hopes to become manager of the Playhouse Theatre. F.S. — tough. F.P. — Vaughn K. U.F. — drag¬ line operator for Kirkland Contractors. GEORGIA BUSBY — Georgia is our quiet blonde who excels in all school subjects. Her ambition centres around music, and we of XIB agree that she will be a most charming organ-grinder. CHERYL ERRETT — Cheryl says she is a very quiet and good-natured girl, but no one has caught her at it yet! F.P. — reading letters from Terry. U.F. — old maid. GILES GIBBS — Giles is an above average student who can always answer Mrs. Fitzell’s literature questions. He can be found spending most of his lonely hours with Lucille Beddard. MURRAY GILLESPIE — Charlie’s little brother, is XIB’s shy guy. He doesn’t have a favorite saying, he just winks. F.P. — curling and hockey, but not swimming. U.F. — drowning or being married. WAYNE ANDERSON — Wayne looks forward to both Spring and Winter. Spring brings the Robins and Winter brings Christmas. F.S. — Hey Cheryl, have you got your French done? U.F. — Santa Claus. DONNA ASHE — Mr. Hoffman’s favorite short student. She says small things come in small packages, but so does arsenic! F.P. — serving Mr. Hoffman’s detentions. F.S. — Guess what: I can go out this weekend, boys! MARGARET BEAR — Margaret, well-liked by everyone, can be found in the halls with Lawrence W. she works part time at Woolworth’s. Amb. — to own Woolworth’s. U.F. — dishwasher. LAUREN CAMPBELL — “Bubbles” is well-liked by all and is noted for her never-ending comedy. She has blue eyes, dark hair, and pink ears. F.S. — no mon, no fun. SUSAN COATES — Suzzy, our peppy cheerleader with the loud voice, except in class, wanders thru the halls in her spare time. Some say she is Mrs. Fitzell’s favorite pupil. Amb. — to live in France. DIANNE DARRAGH — Dianne is the tall, blonde girl of XIB. She excels in Literature, greatly pleasing Mrs. Fitzell. F.P. — fooling around with D.H. DON HANNA — Don likes the wilder things in life, especially those called women. Whenever Don feels like working, he lies down until the feeling passes. JIM HOLATKO — This studious lad from Poplar Point wants to pass Grade XI in one year, an easy task for him. F.S. — Well, I guess I’m smart. GARY IRWIN — “Big Gare” sits in the back row and seldom speaks. However, Gary answers most of the teachers’ questions. F.P. — driving and day-dreaming. F.S. “What do we get?” 25

She enjoys bowling and swimming as well as other sports. U.F. — life¬ guard. SANDRA BONNET — a fun loving girl, she contributes to noise in class. She can always be counted on for a laugh— which includes her droopy eyelids. Amb. — nurse. U.F. — Xl-C DIANE BRADSHAW — Diane is another of the dark¬ haired girls in Mr. Peter’s harem. She is found at Dann’s Cleaners after four and on Saturdays. F.P. — working??? Amb. — University graduate. GORDENE BRAY — Gordene is a studious??? student who’s Elaine’s partner in crime. She can be heard laughing at Judy’s funnies. Amb. — secretary. U.F. — sitting on the boss’s knee. BETTY CAMPBELL — A dark-haired girl with a pleasing personality.
