TBF OUTSTANDING TEACHER AWARD Each year the Crest Staff presents the TBF Outstanding Teacher Award to the teacher who best exemplifies the high standard of teaching set by Mr. Ted B. Fluegel, a former teacher and Crest ad- visor. This year's award is given to Mrs. Mary Maxwell whose life was dedicated to teaching and the students of Peoria High. Mrs. Maxwell, who taught American Government, showed the qualities of patience, guidance, dedication and genuine concern. Late in the first semester, Mrs. Max- well suffered a heart attack, was hospitalized, and underwent heart surgery. In january of 1982, Mary Max- well passed away. Her absence is mourned by students and teachers alike. The Mary Maxwell Memorial Fund was formed, and many groups donated proceeds from their activities to this fund. THE MAR Y MAXWELL MEMORIAL A WARD The Mary Maxwell Memorial Award, which is to be given annually, was established this year after the death of Mrs. Mary Maxwell, who taught American Government. The award is given to the teacher who shows the quality of dedication to teaching that was shown by Mrs. Maxwell. This year's recipient is Mrs. Theoline Chamness, who has given many years of dedication and hard work to Peoria High School and the Special Education Department.
