FOOTBALL The fall of nineteen thirty-two found Bay with a light but promising squadg about thirty-four boys turned out for practice. Bay's first game was played at Chagrin Falls but Chagrin has always proved to be a little stronger than Bay and took the local boys over, to the tune of 20-6. This was only a preliminary practice game leading up to the County League opener. September thirtieth, Bay started on its way to win the county title by trouncing Strongsville by a score of 27-0. One week later they were mo- mentarily disheartened when the North Olmsted eleven nosed out Bay by one point, 13-12. That was a tough one to lose. The following week Bay traveled to North Royalton and marched over the goal there several times with both the first and second teams to pile up a score of 61-0. Bay then went to Fairview to beat them by a total of 12-2, in a game slowed up by the sloppy, muddy iield. Bay's boys had the title cup in full view when on the next Friday, the touted Olmsted Falls squad came over and proved they were stronger by leading us with a score of 6-13. Now again we came to the end of the season and met our friends, neighbors, rivals and what- nots-Dover. Everyone was much enthused over this game, but due to the bleak, rainy, snowy day, the game was not as enjoyable as it might have been. The score, 6-6, will show, though, what a see-saw, grilling game it was in spite of the weather. The boys receiving letters were: Sadler-Q.B.g Drake-R.H.g Toeller and Osterland-L.H.g Proeschel and Morgan-F.B.g Johnston, Gabriel and Schulke-Endsg C. Dean, Lavery, and Jones-Tackles, H. Dean and Haller- Guardsg Zollner CCapt.J-Center, Toensing-Mgr. The senior boys leaving the team this year are Zollner, Sadler, Proeschel, Jones, Haller, Osterland, Schulke, Johnston and Gabriel. Although not very favorable to the debaters it was used throughout the season in debate work. The question for debate for the year 1932-33 was Resolved: That at least 509, of the total state revenue should be derived from other than tangible property. The Bay Village teams debated with Dover, Fairview and North Olm- sted. The Seniors were represented by Eleanor Myers and Gertrude Pro- beckg the Sophomores by Ruth Weston, Mary Merseberg, Jean Osborn, Myrtle Wildasinn, Chester Dean, George Kasik and Robert Klemm. The only active Freshman was June Erwin. Mrs. Berg again coached the debate team this year and in this, her last year, all the debaters who have had her for a coach wish to express their thanks for the great help she has been in her three years here at Bay High. -1oooo4KDocxmcxx3ooo43cKDcKD4x94+ ARC-LIGHT The school paper, the Arc-Light was published twelve times during the school year. Most of the issues were edited by the English classes of the high school. These were under the supervision of Mrs. Berg. The Junior high students, with the help of Miss Hayes were responsible for another issue. Mr. Griifith furnished the material for two issues. This year due to financial dilliculties the school mimeographed the copies of the paper. They found this way of making up the paper to be much cheaper, and to work out as an educational device having many dis- tinct advantages. The business and circulation management has been under the direction of Mr. Wertz. Student staff members in charge of business were Russell Schulke, manager and J ay Hubachg and the student circulation staff members were Betty Hoag, manager and Marion Bloomfield.
