Los Conquistadores was organized in 1952 by Mrs. L. S. Robbins, club spon- sor. The purpose is to promote a better un- derstanding of Hispanic countries, people, language, and culture. The club initiated the Foreign Exchange Student Program this year, raising some of the money by giving the Valentine Dance and a skating party. The highlight of the year is always the Pan- Arnerican Fiesta in April. Other activities are trips to Mexican restaurants and movies and to K. U. for Cervantes Day. Its purpose is to promote interest in dramatics and give recognition to those who are outstanding in this fieldg and to assist the director in producing all dramatic productions. The organizer and first sponsor was Mrs. Lila Durham, followed by Mrs. Berniece Dowis and Miss Roxanne Lewis and the present dram- atics coach, Mrs. Vivo Kiefer. This o r ga n i z a r i o n sponsored the Mardi Gras, the all-schoolplay, and the one-act play this year.
