To some it might be a college education, to others it might be a good career in one of our armed forces, or it may be owning a large business. No matter what our goal, we need to prepare for the future. To prepare for this we have to work hard in our subjects, in our activities, in sports, in whatever we do or want. While preparing we meet different kinds of people, our teachers, our classmates, and our friends. Yes, it is a big challenge to us. It is used in all forms of communication. Our English starts with the basic funda- mentals in the grades and ends with speech and English Composition in our senior year. They sponsored one skating party and co-sponsored another. At Christmas time they had a special collection to be used for a gift to Vera Cruz, for which they also purchased Christmas trees. They attended the Sun- shine District Convention and the Sunshine State Convention. On October 14 the Best Beau Banquet was held in our cafeteria. Around Christmas time they fixed candy and cookies for the sick and shutins of the surrounding community. They also decorated the Christmas trees In the halls and in study hall. They co- sponsored the Sweet Heart Dance which was held in March. The last event of the year was the Mother Ideal Lady Tea and installation of new officers. SSS OFFICERS G. They won a second at the Mermaid Festival where the competition was very tough. The Ossian Band marched at the 4-H Fair, the Bluffton Street Fair, the Little League Parade, and the Penny Pitch. They did a very good job of entertaining at half-time in Basketball. The Band has had two concerts. One for PTA and the Spring Festival. They also participated in the County Music Festival.
