cheerleadung funallsts has ln creased uts membershup to l35 The Polar Cubs, a new organuzatlon now takes the place of last years Blue Polars Sophomore and uunuor gurls wearlng the Polar Cub emblems made a bug addutuon of l25 to the cheerung sectuons Along wuth the former tutle of Blue Polars the Cubs have dlscarded the old blue sweaters for gold ones All the Polars wear the some gold hots Now the two organuzatlons work together for a more unufued cheerlng sectlon at athletuc events Agaln thus year the Polars sponsored a roller skatlng party Proceeds from the party from a bake sale, and candy sales went toward holdung the annual football banquet at the end of the football season Senlor Polars hon ored the vlctoruous varslty team at the ban quet whuch was followed by a dance B ll Engelhardt and Emlly Runge relgned over the banquet as Kung and Queen of Sports The tradutuonal prophesues were good for many laughs Gaul Chrustensen read them for the for each of the team members Jack Veatch recutes humorous prophecues at annual Gold Polar football banquet honorung vorsuty grudders 4 1 82:1 New songs and yells were untroduced along wuth the reuuvenated yelllng SECTION The Po lars comblned wuth the pep band for more catchy chants Durlng the football season and before the basketball tournament the Gold Polars and pep bond were featured on stage for pep rallues Another attractuon was pom pom shakers made by the gurls from gold crepe paper The Polars added to Homecom ung festlvutues wuth a guant goodluck horseshoe lattuced wuth crepe paper streamers for the team to
