The Okemos High School Orchestra spent lother year being 1 under the direction of arless leader Marilyn Kesler. During the year e orchestra played a Winter Concert featur-g M.S.U. violin teacher Cathy Tart as guest loist, and a Spring Concert with students in Graham, Lisa Kuan, Mark Smith, and cki Stephon as soloists. In between, perform-ces included District and State Orchestra stivals, a Kiddie Koncert for Okemos ele-intary students, and the Fine Arts Festival, le highlight of the year was a trip to Toronto d an exchange concert with music students m Canada.

This year’s invitation to our internationally acclaimed orchestra to perform as guest artists came from Toronto. To one-hundred Canadians, the exchange meant new friendships, new partners for square dancing, roller skating and performing Blue Grass. Their visit to Okemos acquainted them with a new culture and our visit to Toronto allowed them to serve as guides to their Eaton Center and the Museum of Natural Science. This was an invaluable exchange between our countries that will always live in the hearts of the participants.
