While finishing with a seven win and five loss season, the track team kept Gaides ' never having a losing season record intact. The season began with a loss to powerful Old Rochester but they won their next two league meets rather convincingly over Wareham and Bourne. The Lancers then lost a heartbreaking grudge match to the defending champions, Diman, and finished strong by beating Bishop Connally and New Bedford Voke. Coach Gaides hopes to continue his winning ways in 1976 while having the benefit of a track for the first time. Junior Bill Cheetham shattered the shot put record several times while also eclipsing the discus record. Darryl Brown, also a junior, broke both longjump and triple jump records. Bruce Larson and Leo Dean rewrote the record books in the 440 and mile respectively while Don Withers raised the high jump mark.

The 1975 Girls Softball Team, coached by Donna Archibald, excelled both individu- ally and as a team. Although a 4-8 record does not reveal a winning season, the team improved continuously. The team hopes for a better season next year, with many of its veteran members returning. Linda Mueller and Julie Milot, due to their out- standing performances in game play throughout the season, were chosen as members of the 1975 All-Star Team in the Southeastern Conference league.
