fy PURGOLD Presents Fantasy For the Hrst time in the history of North Kansas City High School the student body selected a PURGOLD King as well as the traditional PURGOLD Queen. Five couples were selected by senior ballot from a field of sixteen. The Eve Hnal couples campaigned from October 20 to November 7. Each couple had a booth located in the main hall. They were each aided by Hve sales people chosen by the candidates. Students cast their vote by purchasing a yearbook from their favorite couple. The couple with the most books bought won. The winners were announced on November 9 during the annual PUR- GOLD Assembly. With the assistance of the Drama Department and the Harmon- aires, the PURGOLD Staff presented a skit. Cinderella: Take Two. lncluded in the skit was a disco and the crowning of the I 978- 79 PURGOLD King and Queen, Kenny l.ee and Jennie Gorham. l. King Kenny Lee and Queen Jennie Gorham survey their kingdom. 2. Candidates .Iudi Sims and Brad Quick flash winning smiles. 3. Mr. Dale Williams moves to the beat at the Royal disco. 4. The Fairy godperson, portrayed by Bob Walker, posesses magic charm. 5. Cinderella-ella, portrayed by Aide Andreu, contemplates her mean stepsisters. 6.
