Allowed only three minutes to board the buses home, students wait in line anticipating crowded conditions and not get- ting a seat. ygen from too close contact with human bodies and the anticipation of the day's end greet or await numerous students as the 3:15 bell signals the mad race to get a seat on the bus. Some feel the school purposely assigns one bus with a capacity of 55 to pick up 80 kids. They must be trying to prepare us for Muscatine's attempt to beat the Guiness Book bf Records current record for bus-stuffing. Others think it stems from the school's feeling that we don't socialize enough at school and therefore need the closeness of being packed in a bus to become well-rounded adults. Whatever the reason, at the end of every school day the doors fly open and sophomores, along with some unfortunate juniors and seniors, once again sprint toward the line of long yellow monsters to catch a ride home.

Horsing Aroond: A Full-lime Hobby What time does your hobby start? For Patsy Osborn it's everyday at the break of dawn. Patsy's spare time is spent caring for her five show horsesg Tony Cheroke, Mitzis, Lucky Ace, Tonna Gandi and Sha Antano Wicahpi. Her prize winning horses have competed in various events like Western Pleasure, Halter and Hunt- field Pleasure, If you should decide to take up raising horses for show, the first thing you need is money, lots of it. The cost of feed, show fees and equipment add up to quite a large sum. Besides the money, you must devote most of your free time to the horses. Preparing for a horse show is very time consuming. First of all, Pat- sy must ride the horse everyday to get her in shape. Proper daily feeding is essential and, of course, there is always the saddle to clean. Besides getting the horse ready, Pat- sy lines up her own show outfits. Last of all the horse has to be groomed. In a horse show it's very important to have a well-groomed horse. Patsy belongs to the Muscatine County 4-H Horse Club and is also a member of Model U. N. and FFA. When asked if these activities con- flict with her hobby she replied, No, because for 4-H and FFA, my horses are my projects. Patsy's love for animals has in- spired her to look into the veterinarian field as a possible career.
