Mrs. Plyler asks, Are you sure you want to apply to 50 colleges!’ SAT ' S, Achievements, ACT ' s, application fees, teacher recom¬ mendations, essays, transcripts . . . Aagh! Someone stop the world; I want to get off! Like every class before it, this year ' s senior class was faced with the annual task of selecting colleges and applying for admission. Who but a high school senior could answer questions such as Identify an unsolved problem in your com¬ munity and solve it? The job of applying to college has been made easier however, through the commendable efforts of Mt. Vernon ' s guidance depart¬ ment, headed by Mildred Lapsley. Applying to colleges is not easy for anyone, but by the time this book is in your hands, the agonizing process will be over for the Class of ' 77, and will just be starting for the Class of ' 78.
