Anderson Ball Crowder BOYS' GLEE CLUB Among the many musical organizations of Empehi is the Boys' Glee Club, composed of boys who are interested in, and who ap- preciate music. The club has been a large factor in the success of many of the school's productions. The organization has been in existence for many years and as long as the school pro- vides a teacher there will be a group known as the Boys' Glee Club. The officers for the fall semester were: Rob- ert Hayden, presidentg Dick White, Vice- presidentg Gerald Gadsden, secretary and treasurer. The purpose of the group, as the name implies, is to study and Work with music unaccom- panied. In the short time that the organiza- tion has been in existence it has accom- plished much in the Way of quality of tone and expression. Under the leadership of Mrs. Hartle the A Cappella Chorus took part in the recent production H1934 Noel, and produced some striking effects. They also appeared in the May Festival. The chorus, at present, numbers about forty-five members, but it is hoped to grad- ually increase the number until a larger group is assembled. However, quality of tone and musical efliciency will not be slighted for the sake of a large chorus. The original officers chosen by the group were: John Hudell, president, Robert Hay- den, vice-presidentg Jean, Sorrell, secretary, Martha Van Gorkam, treasurer.
