40 4.-4 The band has been very aclive lhis year. ll has played and marched lor all lhe home baslcelball games and played lor several pep sessions. Each member enioyed doing his parl lo malce lhe band a success. Five members are lo receive lheir honor- able discharges in May, bul lo gain success, lhe olhers will carry on. Those receiving honorable discharges are: lrumpel-Dorolhy Rell, Belly Lee, drum--Erla Ely, Rose Wunderbaum, bell lyre-Belly Rose Spaulding. Those who will conlinue lo be in lhis branch ol lhe service are: drum major-Jack Gilberl, maiorelles--Audrea Campbell, Belly McCammon, lwirlers-Harold Everharl, Sue Smilh, Leah Clare Tharpe, llag bearers-Bob Russel, Bob Comsloclc, lrumpel--Marcia Sullon, Jesse Rogers, Lawrence Beymer, clarinels-Virginia Baker, Paul l-leadly, Wilvma Rell, Jack Burson, lrombone- Jeanice Cale, Joyce Morgan, drums-David Wilson, Jack Smilh, saxaphone-Jeanne Burson, Pally Jo Shreve, mellophone-Carol Morgan, French horn-Shirley Trump, barilone-Bob Smilh. This year lhe orcheslra slarled oul wilh quile a lew new recruils. We also had a new Commanding Ollicer. The recruils soon became accuslomed lo lhe rules and regulalions, so lhey are no longer recruils bul velerans. The new Commanding Ollicer is Miss Carmen Purcell.
