38 ENTER ANGELA The Junior Class of '45 pre- senfed a fhree-acf comedy, Enfer Angela. As fhe play opened, Angela Haffer lWanda Banfzl was, as usual, doing a scene from some dreadful play. She was forever frying fo acf. For some unknown reason she was always being in- ferrupfed eifher by Mrs. Pell lJanice Keaglel, fhe cleaning woman, or by Margie Allen lBeffy Leel, a neighbor girl. Max Phillips lKeifh Wiblel was usually somewhere around fhe Haffer mansion. He was quife a good friend of fhe family, and especially of Ocfavia Haffer lRose Wun- derbauml who, alfhough she fried hard fo keep her bills caughf up, was always leffing fhem become overdue. Everyfhing was peaceful around fhe Haffer mansion unfil a leffer came from Aunf Helen. Ocfavia had wriffen fo her, asking her fo puf her fhree darling children fhrough school. They fhoughf fhaf fhis was her answer. Aunf Helen's leffer sfafed fhaf a friend of hers, Miss Smifh lBeffy Rose Spauldingl, was passing fhrough fhis fown and would sfop by fo see fhe Haffer family. If her reporf on fhem was favorable, she would finance fhe children's schooling. The frain was fo arrive shorfly, so before They finished reading fhe leffer, fhey gof Ronald lJames Fordl ready and senf him fo meef fhis unknown Smifh person. Affer Ronald was on his way, fhey finished reading fhe leffer and found fhaf Aunf Helen said fo send Anfhony lWallis Orfl fo rneef fhis person. So fhey also senf Anfhony fo fhe sfafion. You mighf know whaf happened. Anfhony and Ronald bofh broughf home a person named Smifhl Anfhony broughf Bill Smifh lTom Mclieanl, and Ronald broughf Frances Smifh lBeffy Rose Spauldingl. Everyfhing was very complicafed, buf if became more so when Frances enfered fhe room when Angela was doing one of her mosf horrid acfs. This scared Frances and she fainfed. Affer she came fo, she fhoughf fhe Haffer family was crazy. She ran fo her room and locked fhe door, and nofhing could force her fo unlock if. Things finally gof so bad fhaf Frances called fhe police. A policeman named Mifchell lGerald Hawkl soon arrived. Things were in such a mixup +ha+ if would almosf fake a genius fo sfraighfen fhem ouf, buf affer everyone had his say, fhey finally sfraighfened every- fhing ouf. As fhe play closed. Frances said fhaf she would give Aunf Helen a good reporf so fhaf fhe children could have fheir schooling.

This year lhe orcheslra slarled oul wilh quile a lew new recruils. We also had a new Commanding Ollicer. The recruils soon became accuslomed lo lhe rules and regulalions, so lhey are no longer recruils bul velerans. The new Commanding Ollicer is Miss Carmen Purcell.
