If you goof it up, I’ll absolutely die! These Honor Society meetings are so enlightening! Character, scholarship, leadership, and service — four words depicting the qualities shown by the 17 Seniors who have been elected to the National Honor Society. Scholastically, 13 of the Honor Society members were chosen last April with a grade point average of 3.25 or above. The formal ceremony was held in the cafeteria with parents present. Four members were chosen in October with a grade point average of at least 3.00. Congratulations to the students who have worked very hard to obtain membership in the National Honor Society.

The Swing Choir and Girls Glee Clubs are organized and directed by Mr. Richard Putzier. The Swing Choir is made up mostly of band members. The choir sang several songs at the 1980 Christmas concert and is entering a contest in May as a school chorus. The Girls Glee Club also participated in the annual Christmas concert. Hieb, M. Heck. M. Blomquist. K. Lund. MODIFICA . 1 Last year, the Mondovi High School forensics team was rated number one in the state with Algoma High School. Of all of the teams in the state meet, Mondovi and Algoma received the most A ratings. Mondovi had 18 out of 23 members obtaining top ratings and was given the William Hienz Memorial trophy for their display of excellence. The excellence that the Mondovi High School forensics squad had achieved throughout the year was the result of very dedicated coaches. Special recognition is given to head coach Mrs. Virginia Everson, along with assistants Mrs. Morey, and Mrs. Pederson. Without them the quality performances of our students would not be possible. As this yearbook goes to press, the forensics season has just begun. Hopefully the long hours spent on speeches, demonstrations, and plays will pay off again this year. The team will participate in meets in Eau Claire, River Falls, Durand, plus subdistricts, districts, state, and the National Forensics meet.
