Every week a diTTerenT member oT boTh squads was given The opporTuniTy To serve as capTain whose iob iT was To choose The cheers Tor her pep assem- bly and game. This year The money wenT Tor The purchase oT new uniforms Tor The varsiTy squad. LasT year's newly donned ouTTiTs were given To The sopho- more cheerleaders. ATTer choosing The design of The skirT, The Tive varsiTy regulars selecTed a paTTern. Mrs. Harley Moorhusen and Mrs. Galeno Panicucci, moThers of Nonie and Luanne, made The skirTs To TiT The girls. PleaTed knee lengTh skirTs were TiTTed To The hip line. To compleTe The uniform, The girls chose whiTe crew neck sweaTers. Medallions represenTing maroon megaphones wiTh The word Moline prinTed in whiTe across Them were sewn on The TronTs oT The sweaTers. Dressed in Their new cosTumes, The varsiTy group added new sparkle To The games and creaTed more spiriT. Wear- ing Their new ouTTiTs Tor The TirsT Time aT The Moline- Galesburg game, The girls really roused Team spiriT since The Maroons deTeaTed The Silver STreaks.
