FRESHMAN CLASS The members of the Class of 1945 are no longer green. They realize that in a few years they too will be graduating. Next year they begin their senior-high-school careers. Every fellow has his choice of course to make- vocational, aca- demic, or commercial. His choice may mean a complete change in his environment and studies for the next three years and for the rest of his life. He should choose carefully. The Freshman Class has been successful scholastically, and its members have already participated in most of the major school activities. The group shows great promise, and we look forward to great things from them in the future. The Class of 1942 hope the Freshmen realize that next year they will have to maintain the high standards of the Sophomores. To do so will require even more interest in both studies and activities, but we are sure they will not fail us.

SOPHOMORE CLASS The fact that the summer vacation was extended a month did not stall this year's Sophomores. These fellows shifted to a higher gear and adjusted themselves to the duties of upholding the name of the Sophomore Class. These new duties were, of course, set before them by the Junior Class. Many have followed in the different fields of music and sport. They contributed members to the Spartan Orchestra, Band, Symphony Orchestra, and Glee Club. Those who starred in H. I. S. sports are Gordon Gerhart, James Eby, Francis McKniff, Harry Heineman, John Martin, and Torrance Hess. Many other Sophomores participated in sports, but their names have not been included among those mentioned. We members of the Class of 1942 feel certain that the present Sophomore Class will finish this school year with the usual high standard of that grade honorably maintained.
