Elder, who has produced so many ou+s+anding ieams in Merchanlville High School, ihis year realized an ambi+ion of long sfanding. The sfarfing line-up consisled of four seniors and one sophomore. George Dempsey led fhe feam and all of Souih Jersey in scoring from his posiiion as forward. Paired off wi+h Dempsey af fhe olher forward spoi was Ted Joya, a sopho- more who eniered Merchan+ville High School ihis year and almosl immediaiely won a posifion on fhe varsily squad. Manning fhe pivol' spol' was big Jim Wiggins, who also scored his share of poinls. Playing +he guard posi+ions and offering excellenl defense were Glenn Conklin, skilled af las?-passing, and Kenny Buller, known for his versafilily.
