MARTHA P. FOSTER fg' RUTH ANN ERSKINE Miss Erskine of the winsome smile re- ceived her A.B. from Michigan State College and her M.A. from the Uni- versity of Michigan. Being a marvelous co-sponsor of the Senior Class, Ruth Ann teaches Plane Geometry. Ad- vanced Algebra, Trigonometry, and Solid Geometry. H. H. HARRISON Mr. Harrison, our long time instructor of Industrial Arts in M.H.S., is well- known to many as Hub. Mr. Harrison is the able president of the Teachers Club and he received his B.S. at West- ern Michigan College. WILLIAM P. FITZGERALD Pat Fitzgerald joined the Science de- partment at Marshall High this year. He is teaching Biology, 7th grade Sci- ence, and a course in Health and Safe- ty. Our ambitious sophomore sponsor holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University. IVAN FLESER B Mr. Fleser, who holds a B.S. degree from Western Michigan College and a M.A. from the University of Michigan, is certainly kept busy doing a fine job as a Social Studies teacher, besides his sponsorship of the Hi-Y and in charge of visual aids. Mrs. Foster is a charming hostess in or out of the classroom. She graduated from Michigan State College with a B.S. degree, and is now teaching in the Home Economics department. She is the ambitious co-sponsor of the active F.H.A. Club. MABEI. E. HUMPHREY Miss Humphrey received her A.B. at Western Michigan College. She teaches 7th and 8th grade Mathematics. She has been a popular teacher in the Iun- ior High for many years. EVELYN KEYES Miss Keyes received her A.B. at Mich- igan State Normal College. She has been very busy this year teaching the seventh and eighth graders the funda- mentals of English.

IOSEPH R. COOPER After obtaining his B.S. at Westem and his M.A. at the University of Michigan, Mr. Cooper came to Marshall to teach Science and Math to the lunior High students. He also coaches the reserve football, varsity basketball and base- ball teams. Along with these activities, Mr. Cooper helps in the guidance of the students. LOUISE M. DIEI-IL Miss Diehl, a long time English instruc- tor at Marshall High, received her A.B. from Michigan State Normal College, B.S. at Western Michigan. and her M.A. at the University of Michigan. Being a fine sponsor of the Ir. Historical Society, understanding Miss Diehl encourages HENRY W. CUNNINGHAM poetry study among her students. KENNETH DRAKE WILLIAM M. CRUMRINE Mr. Crumrine is our ever-popular Chem- istry and Physics instructor. He has his A.B. from Ashland College and his M.A. from the University of Michigan. He is and teaches a class in aeronautics. chairman of the Guidance Committee, Mr. Cunningham, the all-time favorite of M.H.S.. is instructor of American History, Debate, and Speech. He re- ceived his A.B. at Greenville College Mr. Drake, our English and Journalism teacher, went to Muskegon Iunior Col- lege for the first part of his higher edu- cation. He got his A.B. at Westem lVIich- igan College. He is sponsor of the Bi- weekly and Annual 'als D1. and his M.A. at the University of Mich- igan. The now then, people man is co-sponsor of the Senior Class. ARTHUR D. DE SANTIS Mr. DeSantis, the seniors' friend, RUBY DRAUGHON As eighth grade English instructor and Social Studies teacher, we find able Mrs. Draughon. Mrs. Draughon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Michigan College. She is very popular among the Iunior High students. is another newcomer to our faculty. He recevied his B.A. from Northern Mich- igan College of Education and his Mas- ters from Michigan State. He teaches Government and Economics and is co- sponsor of the Iunior class.

EDNA MAE SHAFER FRANCES MERRITT Miss Merritt received her A.B. at Albion College and her M.A. at the University of Michigan. This tall English teacher is known for her personality and likes gardening, horse-back riding, cmd an- tiques. ELIZABETH RHINEHART Mrs. Rhinehart received her A.B. at Michigan State College. This typing and shorthand teacher, popular with the junior and senior girls, enjoys read- ing and entering nation-wide contests. FRANCES A. MlI.LER Mrs. Miller has been the able librarian of our high school for a number of years now. She also has sponsored the Library Club. Even though she broke her wrist this past winter, she carried on with her library work. NANCY MUDGE BESS C. MURRAY Mrs. Murray, the favorite of many a student in Marshall High, teaches Eng- lish to Iuniors and Seniors and Basic Living to the Senior girls. She is also our very capable play director L. G. ROTHNEY Mr. Rothney received his B.S. at Mich- igan State College. Here in M.H.S., he teaches vocational agriculture and is also the active sponsor of the Future Farmers of America. ceq ' l 122 Popular Miss Mudge came to us from Richland last September and has be- come a strong leader in girls' athletics. She received her B.S. degree from Tay- lor University and plays professional baseball in the summer months. She is also the sponsor of the G.A.A. Miss Shafer received her A.B. at West- ern and her M.A. at the University of Michigan. She teaches Latin and Span- ish and is sponsor of both these clubs. She also keeps busy as co-sponsor of both the Iunior and Sophomore classes. Miss Shafer also has a Freshman Eng- lish class.
