madrigals This year the Choral Department has performed well under the direction of Lindsey Florence. The Girls Choir gave four performances which included two Christmas Concerts, a Spring Concert and a Pop Concert. The Concert Choir ' s main performance was a tour to Hagerstown, Md. and Harrison¬ burg, Va. Other activities included at! County and Regional Choruses. The Madrigals kept up their famous traditions by giving three Christmas Concerts and a Spring tour. They con¬ tributed to the Bicentennial Celebration by giving a concert at Sully Plantation. This year the National Honor Society has the largest membership in the history of Madison due to high achievement in academic excellence. Membership is open to Juniors and Seniors with at least a 3.2 grade point average and high qualities of leadership, character, and service. Candlelight inductions are held in the fall and in the spring with few other meetings. The main objectives of the National Honor Society are to provide a strong tutoring program and to encourage excellence in both the school and in the com¬ munity. 137
