Riagg. -saws-+3 I r ,,!l Foreword he -Qtudent Publication staff will be pleased if this day-to-day pictorial record of school life gives pleasure to the student body and their parents. We have felt that the tirst purpose of a school yearbook is to mirror faithfully the ever changing life of the school and to present a reasonably complete history of the school year. To do this we have included all the activities of the spring season, including commencement, and must necessarily distribute the annual during the summer months. We hope the reader will like the physical arrangement of the book and will find it of great sentimental value as a part of his perma- nent library. I--.. is-vv' The Administration There is no community enterprise more important than than the education of the oncoming generation. That the com- munity realizes this is apparent, because more money is ap- propriated for this purpose than any other. For this expenditure Indiana has developed outstanding elementary schools, and White and Armstrong Townships are engaged in building one of the most modern elementary schools in the state. The High School provides the pupils of its service area with an edu- cational program rated as superior by accrediting agencies. Much cred-it for an outstanding educational program must be given to a forward-looking administration. which is the mutual responsibility of the joint Board of School Directors. the Super- intendent of Schools, and the High School Principal. A pro- gressive administration, a superior staff of instructors, and a school program to meet the needs of all boys and girls gives Indiana joint High School a proud record in the preparation of Fine, substantial citizens. At the present time crowded con- ditions make it imperative that we enter upon a building pro- gram to house an increasingly large number of pupils. The Ioint Board has embarked upon this program which will house an estimated high school enrollment of about 1700 within six years. The Board and Administration believes The permanent wealth of the nation lies in the minds and lives of its youth.
