Culture must not only he created, it must likewise he sustained, cherished, even loved like a childf, It is usually a woman who is the first cultural factor in the life of a child. Most frequently the mother or teacher directs the child, through singing native songs and telling stories of its people, to utter its first words. Immaculata aims to install a compre- hension of world-wide culture by offering in its language curriculum: Latin, Greek, French, Spanish, German, Italian, and Russian. Through the knowledge and appreciation of the ideals, customs, and even problems, thus gained, the international barriers erected by international misunder- standings should gradually disappear.
