Wayne Seitz Getting The Scoop With the return of Wayne Seitz from o year's sabbatical leave, the Lance underwent many changes. Unlike last year's newspapers, the 1987-88 Lances came out bi- weekly, putting more pressure on the staff of 20. To help the paper look more professional and ease the pressure of getting enough stories to fill the paper, the Lance cut three inches off the size of the paper. With this reduction, it was easier to get out many issues without unused space. But size reduction, more issues and Seitz's return were not the only changes. The Lance and Halberd staffs made yearbook history this year by be- ing the first activities to be in color. Lance-front Row- Ann Kendall, flprill Drader, fllex Dunlap, Brendan Scott, flmy Sennett. UUith this new ond expensive goal in mind, come many new pro- blems. Getting enough money to poy the bills was one of the top dif- ficulties. This involved endless hours of selling advertising ond the year- books themselves. R campaign was set up involving posters and stickers to promote the selling of the books. Class competition was another method used to try ond stimulate interest. Advertising, however, wasn't the only time consuming project, late nights ond long afternoons were spent with poste-up of the pages, writing copy and finding ideas to moke the yearbook more unique. UUorking together formed lasting friendships between the staff. The anticipation of how the final product would appear after so many hours of work was the absolute dimox of the year. Editor. The choir hod around six to ten concerts this year and the oppor- tunity to tour in the spring. The tour went to Portland, Oregon stopping several times along the way to per- form. It's challenging, quality music. -Peter Park Another highlight of the year for chamber choir was the AA Invita- tional in November. The AA schools in Montana get their choirs together for a festival at which they work with a guest conductor and have the chance to meet and sing with other choir students from Montana.
