Harper's football team, sparked by Lloyd Brill and Bill Angelo, wins first game 13 to 6. Betty Cagney elected Comptroller, forgets first City Council meeting. Carmen Izzo comes in 54th out of 55 in the Cross Country meet. School opens olicially. The first Highway is out with Millie Lamberty the new editor. The first pep assembly a huge success clue to the efforts of Mr. Wasserinan, the band, the cheerleaders, and our line new M. C., Mr. Carlin. Shield stall going crazy trying to plan enough casual pictures. No, no, Mitch, your picture is already in fourteen times. Physics class in uproar when Mr. Harris collects two weeks homework. Gerry Palm, desperately trying for 64- pages in Mr. O7KeelTe's European History class, is already up to 32. Cliff Mcllnay hasn't a broken finger. He is just showing off his graduation ring. Loyalite drive ends with a 991k membership. Even Bill Schiesser joins. No school today! Thank you, Christopher. Harper's football Dance, the Lollie Pop Frollie, a success. Jean Larson and Bill Seniors hold annual College Day. Rich Hintz tries to decide where to attend college. Tom Landvogt gets his picture appointment changed for the sixth and last time. To be or not to be, is the question that Helen Decker has been trying to memorize for the test due on Hamlet. Harper's football Dance, the Lollie Pop Frollie, a success. Jean Larson and Bill Rooney reign over the dance as king and queen. Class of J une '49 elects Calzaretta, Chick, Benzies, and Murrell as officers. I oe Hayes stars as soloist with the A Cappella at the Drexel Park Church. Harperites glued to their radios hear John Gambon and Ronald Lersten per- form on radio forums. Ioan MacClashan and Elmer Osmeyer display romantic antics in Dear Ruth. Dr. Gallup should have been in the seventh period civics class and learned how to conduct polls as did Dick Grant and Malvina Dargis. Even Santa 'Claus came to the Tinsel Twirl Dance. How closely he resembled Mr. Churchill! Victories over Farragut and Waller advanced Harper to the quarter-finals of the Illinois Tech. tournament when they had the misfortune to encounter Marshall, the eventual champions.
