We were happy to see the coal conversion plan for heating completed. Although there are mechanical problems yet to be solved, we feel confident that the savings will be worth the time, effort and money. The 1984-85 school year will see our school district involved with more use and exposure to the computer world. New class offerings are expected for our students. Our new Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Rod Svee, has reached the completion of his first year of service. The transition was smooth and we are pleased with his administrative abilities. It has been another great year for School Districts 17-H and 1. The sharing that occurs results in a most important part of any school, the making of memories. Memories are carried with you for the rest of your life. Meetings between classmates after graduation are seldom filled with discussions about the knowledge gained at Hardin High School. Instead, memories are shared. Savor all your time in school. Gain your knowledge. Share your tears and joys. Enjoy the making of your memories. Our first year together has been a very memorable year. May the future be as enjoyable and as memorable. Rodney Svee Superintendent Superintendent Of Schools Kodney Q. Svee I Bulldogs: 1983-1984 has been a most eventful year! We ” have seen many goals and accomplishments on the part of staff, students and community fl and we have fallen short of our goals on some occasions. I hope we all continue to strive for a school system that is the best in every way -and to accomplish that goal we must all work together. Congratulations to the members of the class of '84 and best wishes for the days and years ahead of you. We all hope you are leaving Hardin High School with the “tools” you need to be successful in whatever you choose. To the rest of you, let's look forward to making the 1984-85 school year even better. Don Gilbertson Principal My first year at Hardin High School has truly been an interesting year. We have all experienced some very exciting events, which have brought us all a great deal of pride and accomplishment. The pride taken here by the students and faculty has made this a growing year, with visions of even a better year for 1985. The theme of Homecoming was, “It Was Almost Like A Song . Monday all the students wore their sweats. Tuesday was Punk day and our faithful cooks won a prize for their efforts. Hump day was labeled as Rock-a-Billy day and spirited students bopped around wearing their outfits from the 50's. Thursday invited our student body to dress in their craziest clothes, looking like maniacs. Some of our bravest senior guys dressed in togas. Later on that night the craziness continued at the bon fire and snake dance. To cap off the week of fun and frolic the bulldogs were garbed in orange and black from head to paw. The Bulldogs were defeated by the Miles City Cowboys with the hanging score of 63-18. Students spirits were lifted with great tunes by the band “Yogo at the homecoming dance. floating Away Awesome floats Showing off as usual The spirit of participation was in the air at the work sights for the 1983-84 homecoming floats. The theme for the float construction was centered around a favorite song. The beat filled the air as “Just A Swingin’’, the senior float, swept first place. The juniors, taking second place, showed bulldog pride with “The Winner Takes It All . The freshman class came in third with the much needed “Bulldog Touch . The sophomores bit the dust with Another One Bites The Dust”. Each class put in long hours and hard work making this years floats a great napkin success. The class of “85 gambled with Winner Takes It AH , our 2nd place float. Smashed to a grill lies a victim of the Orange And Black Attack . The first to make tracks down Main Street in this years’ Homecoming parade was the “83-84” Bulldog Marching Band. Bottom left: The 87” class float captured 3rd place with its “Bulldog Touch”. Some of the students spend time in the dark room developing film. Others are busy cutting pictures and putting pages together. Still others strain their brains trying to combine words to form decent copy. Spare time is spent in gossip sessions talking over love-lorn stories and trying to get yesterday’s homework done. The club is slowly decreasing it’s debt by participating in activities such as: bake sales, concessions, and dances. To show their school spirit the class entered the Homecoming Parade as a kazoo band. As this year’s book was produced the annual staff sought out to shoot sharper photos, write catchy informative copy, and create well designed pages. Overall, this has been an awesome year for the annual staff. 9? ■ A r t e i u b This year's major project was the making of the schools conference logos for the gymnasium wall.
