Colonel Adam Wolf who was a member of the Drill Team, Boys' Vice-President of the Stu- dent Body, and a life member of the Silver Seal Society. His staff consisted of CfCapt. Byron Fortman, executive officer, C!Capt. Garrett Lee, adjutant, C!Lt. Vladimir Stekley, public information officer, CfLt. Bryan Wong, training officer, and CfLt. Tyrone Cobb, supply officer. The Drill Team, this term, was commanded by CfCapt. Tony Leong. The Drum and Bugle Corp was commanded by CfLt. Robert Miller. Galileo's Drum 8 Bugle was selected as the only Drum S Bugle Corp to play at the annual 91st Com- petition. The Color Guard was commanded by CfLt. Robert Williams. The Saber Club was revived in the Battalion. This club consisted of commis- sioned officers only. In many ways it was like a social club, in which it could use its funds in any way it pleased. The Saber Club was led by the Battalion Comman- der C!Lt. Col. Adam Wolf as president, CfCapt. Byron Portman, vice-president, CfCapt. Tony Leong, secretary, and C!Lt. Vladimir Stekly, treasurer. A new system took place in ROTC this term. In order for a cadet master ser- geant to become a commissioned officer, he must have passed a three-part exam- ination including an interview with a board consisting of the battalion commander, executive officer, and adjutant. An Officers' Call was also established where offi- cers and non-commissioned officers met to discuss current problems in ROTC. 9,71 A 1 11 V. - -,V ' ' -1 f 'Vt : Z f '. , ' ,' . The Lions' League is an organiza- tion which has been and still is of a great service to our school. They are responsible for supplying our students with school supplies and selling candy Lions' at the football games. They also had a hand in making the K.O. Polio drive and the magazine drive a big success. Other worthwhile projects include making the patient's stay at the Let- erman Hospital a little more enjoy- able. Besides doing service to the school the Lions' League also does a lot of traveling. The League 's sponsor, Miss Madsen, takes care of all excur- sion ti-ips. So far, the organization has taken tours of various universities, such as Davis and Stanford, has taken an educational tour of the United Air- lines, and has planned another trip to Disneyland. 7 The Junior members of the Lions' League try their luck at smiling. At the present, this organization has adopted the point system to help earn pins and life member- ship to give recognition to those who deserve it. This term, Girls' Council has once again under taken the job of patrolling the halls during the lunch periods. Each girl is now authorized to give out Stu- dent Court citations to the offenders. Other worth while service projects in which these girls are engaged include helping a Galileo K.O. Polio center and ush ering at the term plays and at graduation. The smiling officers of the Girls' Council are Karen Lum, secretary, Gloria Jong, president, and Mary Goosev, vice-president. fl 'Qu Nfl Saws
