Aside from making important decisions about school activities, they sponsored many dances including the homecoming . dance and the festivities. They also take credit for the can food drive which proved to be a big success. The can drive provided needy families of Florence with food to serve for Christmas. Florence also had Irene Var- gas, Penny Jaurequi, Mary Jo Heck and Da- vid Mandel picked as delegates to represent Florence at the State Convention of Student Councils.

Over the years the Spanish club has had many fiestas, taco and tostada sales. They have attended the Arizona State Fair in Phoenix. They also go Christmas car- oling during the holidays. X . The 82-83 Florence G-.A.A. has had a good year. We started out by electing officers. Rene Goade-Pres., Andi Cordova-Vice-Pres., Penny Jaurequi-Treas., Sharon Lewis-Sec. Our membership for G.A.A. this year was 25 young athletes. Our money products this year consisted of a Valentine sucker sale in Feb. and a G.A.A. spring T-shirt sale. G.A.A. offers an organization for the young athletes of Florence High School. We hope through guidance and companionship our athletes can go on to pursue a career which is useful to them.
