Q EQCQ SSFUL PUBLICATION EDITORIAL STAFF ADVISOR: Miss Russell To a staff member of Trial Flights happi- ness was a successful publication. To make Trial Flights successful, staff mem- bers collected essays, poems, and short stories written by students in their Eng- lish classes. Members selected the best of these articles to compile a very orig- inal and unique magazine for Excelsior. This year a new plan for distributing Trial Flights was adopted. The high-stepping 5iXfY member band marched PYOUCHY Ui all home football games. and pC1I'CId6S, playing familiar tunes and the SCh00l favorites: On Excelsior, and Excelsiar's On the Campus. Through continued practice the band received many high honors. While the marching band played familiar school songs, the Pep Band provided bounce to all our away football games, rallies, and basket- ball games. Dance Band's repertoire included rhythmic music from iazz compositions to popular tunes with many original arrangements. 64 i n
