l JERRY DWIGHT BRINGARD ARTHUR JAMES BADY D.U.S.-2 Baseball-1, 3 Honor Society-1, 3, 4 Prefect-3, 4 League Council-4 The fact that he has been a member of the honor society in the ninth, eleventh, and twelfth grades, a prefect for the past two years, and our school representative in the Southeastern Sub- urban Conference this year, tells much about Arthur. His writing ability has made a place for him on the Yellow Jacket. However, it is difficult to analyze Arthur's friendly spirit which seems to absorb those around him. His sense of humor is always apparent. He works very seriously on all assignments. It should be added that Arthur has enjoyed the companionship of one girl for over two years. His next destination is the Uni- versity of Michigan, where he will study engineering. It is cer- tain that his easy-going friendliness and his industriousness will make him successful in whatever he does. Football-3 Honor Society-2, 4 Captain-4 Prefect Basketball-3, 4 P'eSident 4 Baseball-2 3 League Council-4 captain! Class Vice-President-3 Track-3, 4 Athletic Association president-4 Varsity Club-4 Debate-2, 3, 4 Blue and Gold sports-4 Yellow Jacket-4 Dramatics-3, 4 The Bringard brothers, Tom and Jerry, are a tradition at Country Day. Jerry, our classmate, may be found around D.C.D. everywhere at the same time. Jerry's contributions to the school are to be found in the fields of baseball, football, basketball, track, interclass debating, student government, and the stage. In the last two years Jerry has won letters in all the major sports. For the ast three years Jerry has been a class representative in the interclass debates. For the last two years Jerry has been a stage manager for the school plays. During his senior year he was the president of the Prefect Board, and a representative to the League Council. As is evident, Jerry is a very active boy in all fields of extra- curricular activities. Jerry has made honors in the academic fields too. This year he has been a member of the honor society quite regularly. Jerry plans to continue his studies at Denison University. He plans to go into accounting or an allied field. We are sure that Jerry will make the high marks in life that he has made at Country Day. SQVOH

eight BREWSTER PHILLIPS CAMPBELL Track-2, 3, 4 Prefect Vice President-4 Class Vice-President-4 Blue and Gold assistant editor-4 Yellow Jacket editor-4 This year's most remarkable student is Bruce Campbell. Easily conceded as the class wit, Brewster is the usual cause of riotous laughter in and out of the classroom and the cause of much consternation to the teacher who can't quite hide his amusement. What's more, his humor can slip in through the teacher's defense in such things as reports and geometric proofs. His mugging attracts many eyes to his end of the dining table. Yet there is a deeper, intellectual side. Wide reading has brought Bruce a profound religious philosophy which ap- pears in his more serious moments. A third aspect of his ver- satility in his outside activities. He is a prefect and class vice- president this year. All these attributes go to make a single personality that has made a deep impression in the Detroit Country Day archives. His future aspirations include seminary training at either Tulane or Kenyon. GERALD THOMAS DAVIES Class President-3, 4 Class Vice-President-2 Debate-1, 2, 3 school-2, 3, 4 Blue and Gold business manager-4 Yellow J acket-4 Dramatics-4 Gerry's greatest field of activity is his speaking. No doubt his winning personality and confidence make this possible. He has been the mainstay of the newly formed debating team which Gerry helped guide to runner-up spot in the Class B cham- pionships in Michigan last year. He has participated since the eighth grade in the Silver Ring Contest for extemporaneous speaking. There seems to be no end for Gerry's versatility when we also consider that he has been a member of the honor society many times, that he has been class president for the last two years, and that he has managed the business and photography for the yearbook. He has been the binding and leading influence on the class. Even with all this re- sponsibility, Gerry has managed to retain his smile and become one of the outstanding social successes in our class. Preparing for the business world, Gerry will take up accounting and law at Michigan. There can be little dissent on Gerry's future accomplishments.
