Science and Math MRS. JUDY HULVEY To increase students’ ability to think with mathematical and scientific principles and to stress the appropriate attitudes in both of these fields is one of the most valuable goals the members of the science-math department try to achieve. By stressing the importance of not only knowing the basic skills of math and sci- ente, but also how to use these skills correctly, the students are taught to live better in today's complicated world. The faculty, re- presentative of the field of so- cial studies, tries to give the students enough information to spark the initiative to think for themselves. The students al- most always leave the social studies department with a better understanding of the develop- ment of American institutions and an inspiration to better these developments to the good of humanity. 11

Experiences with language in operation have been used; the student has been enabled to perceive himself as an organizer of new experiences as he moved into new roles, new situations, and new levels of human ex- perience.
