In order to prevent jealously, I had used a Cadallic body, Olds- mobile hub caps, Ford fenders, Buick tires, and a Chevrolet hood, but the atomic power engine was exclusively mine. To quiet all the skeptics who said that the car would never hold together, I began a cross-country trial run. Along the way I stopped to see Betty Ann Cook, the editor of the New York Times . She persuaded me to let her write a full page in her paper about my car. At the University of Cramerton, I found that they had won ten con- secutive basketball games. The credit goes to their six-foot player, Gail Kelley. Wayne Byers has finally fulfilled his fondest dream to land on the moon.
