March 12-13- The Bucs traveled t o Laredo for the Border Olympics and took 3rd place. March 19-20- The Fort Worth Exposition proved to be just experience for theBucs as they captured Znd place. March 26- For the third straight year the Corpus Christi thinly clads have walked off with firstplace inthe Robstown Relays. Five records fell to the Bucs that day. April 2-3- The Bucs came back from the Texas Relay at Austin with 3rd place. April 16-17- Inthe District meet at Laredo the Bucs finished second. Spectators witnessed a thrilling 440 relay between Corpus and Austin, a photo finish with Austin taking first. Eighteen thinly clads lettered at this meet. April 23-24- In the Regional Meet at Kingsville the Bucs piled up points for second place. May 1- In the San Antonio Invitational.Corpus Christi and Austin teamed together to take first place from Brackenridge and Thomas Jefferson. May 6- At theState Meet in Austin Little John Trevathan ran a 50 seconds 440 yards dash to place first, and Farmer placed third in the 130 low hurdles. This Christmas the Bible Club gave boxes of food to the needy families in Corpus Christi. CLUB La Muette, the French Club of CCHS meets every other Friday during class period. It is a clubof longstanding. The club song is Alouette . It is devoted to the study of French customs. We play French games and sing French songs. The ideal is to further the interest in French in CCHS. VOCATIOMAL tUOPI The disassembly, replacement of worn parts, and reassembly of automotive units, develop mechanical skills. Building a machine requires accurate cooperation of all the students. Machine shop students nnust learn to operate all types of nnachines found in the Machine Shop. The selection of the proper tool for the job to be done is an important part of the train- ing of Auto Mechanics students. Derrronstration models help in understanding mechanical units. Students are taught the use of industrial types of sheet metal working equipment. The study of mathennatics related to the sheet metal trade is put to practical use. Each tool has its proper place. 4 -T ' - i Vocational interest as well as hobbies is the aim of Industrial Arts. Girls as well as boys are given opportunity to develop interest in Industrial Arts Shops. Projects that may be used in the home are always interesting to Industrial Arts Students.
