The foll- owing are a few, but by far not all of their numerous accomplishments. Demonstrating their athletic abilities, ll outstanding senior boys were members of the Red Devil football s quad, Two seniors, Rex Adams and Dave Hartenstein were honored as co-cap- tains of the Varsity team, Many senior boys held positions on the basketball and track teams, Miss Red Devil, Miss Homecoming, Miss Collins High School, May Queen, Teen Queen, and four Collins beauties were representatives of the Senior Class. The seniors were very active in club work at Collins, Seniors served as presidents of the following clubs: Varsity, Future Business Leaders ofAmerica, Dramatics, National Honor Soc- iety, Latin, Tri-Hi-Y, Press, Quill and Scroll, Home Economics, Hi-Y, and A Capella Choir, A senior is also president of the Red Devil Band and the Student Council. As evidence of their willingness to work, members of the Senior Class who served in the foll- owing capacities were: Chairman of Hi-Teen, Safety, Citizenship, Cle an -up, Student Directory, Budget, Christmas Program, and Senior Privileges Committeesg conducted Orientation Day for new students, conducted Career Day, were editors of The Log and Acorn, placed on the honor roll each six weeks, were chairmen of the Talent Show, held the annual class play, took part in the Fayette County Choral Festival: Seniors were members and held offices in every club exc e pt the Junior Science Club. A senior was president of the Southeastern District of West Virginia Student Councils, and president of the Fayette County Association of Student Councils. The senior awards were quite numerous, Some of their honors included: Daughters of the American Revolution Citizenship Award, Hannah Awards, Baush and Lamb Science Award, first and second semester Hi-Teens, and various athletic honors.
