As one who attends al- most every athletic event, and the majority of the social events of the student body, Dean Herrick has learned to know the CSU student. He has left his office door open at all times to any student who needs his advice and guidance. For many of us, his steady manner has proven to he a port in a storm. It is fitting that the first annual should be dedi- cated to a man who has always placed the student first in the uni- versity. . : F7 V ,I A . . ', W, 3 ! t? .. .ju --4 -I ' gm 1. Q Y. Its purpose is five-fold: to promote better relations among C.S.U. women, to encourage scholarship, to facilitate the adjustment of freshman women, to im- prove campus facilities for C.S.U. women and to improve and uphold the reputation of CSU. Many of CO-ED's activities are centered around the freshman women. A handbook entitled CO-ED Communique is published for freshman women. A helping hand tutoring service is available for the purpose of giving aid to those women students who need help in a certain subject. In addition, C0-ED handles the Big-Little Sister program and participates in freshman week. One of CO-ED's most rewarding annual projects comes at Christmas. During the holidays, the girls visit a home for the aged, sing Christmas carols and pass out cupcakes. This according to the girls, is a very gratifying experience. The activities of CO-ED are terminated at the yearis end with a tea given for past, present and future C.S.U. students. Theta Rho Theta Rho is the Honorary Scholastic Fratemity of the School of Arts and Sciences. Entrance is by invitation to those Juniors and seniors who hold a 3.00 point hour. Among Theta Rho's Programs is sponsorship of the Fine Film Se- ries. Seated: Nancy Friedl, Secretary-Treas- urerg Dr. Albert N. Cousins, Advisorg LaVerne Majors. It is tempting to mark on the years of service which each of these men has given to the institution. c'Woody has been here for 37 years. Vance has set a record for years of service which can never be matched. Dr. Fabel has also left his mark. The FANF ARE, however, chooses to remember that these men will be better remembered for intangibles, rather than for calender years. How many students left their influence as better individuals for having known them, is a question which never will be answered. How many athletes learned the meaning of the terms ucompetitionv and sports- manship from Coach Woodling? How many students learned how to come to terms with life from Mr. Chamberlin and Dr. Fabel? When these questions are posed, terms of long service seem insignificant. The Cleveland State University is a better place thanks to these men. The students wish them a happy retirement, and hope that they will return often to renew old friendships. f FN F?
