The team posted a 3-8 overall record and a 2-5 conference record. Coach Kerber accredited this to lack of enthusiasm and constant effort.” Clay City played Dieterich, the conference champs, early in the season and came within one point of defeating them. This was the closest any team ever got to defeating the champs. The Wolves placed third in the Clay City Invitational, and they lost their first Midland Trail Conference tournament game. There were only three seniors out for the sport. They were Wendell Simmons, who was picked for the All-Conference baseball team; Mark Turner; and Alan Uphold. The top three batters for the season were Wendell Simmons, Tony Dyer, and George Flexter. a. Making a grab for the ball. Wendell Simmons gets the out b. Grade schoolers spook unsuspecting spectators Halloween is a time for the scariest goblins, ghosts, and other spooks to make themselves known and lurk the most unexpected areas. The grade school showed that even the sweetest youngster could be transformed into the most horrid creature on spook day. The band party turned out a frightening success with every instrumental varmint showing up, maybe to win a prize for their ugliness. The younger spooks paraded through town trying to scare people who never knew what was going to jump out from a bush or dark corner and screech Boo”. But please don’t blame the youngsters, for even the administration became spooks for a day. e a. Grade schoolers spook band Halloween party. b. Faculty take a pan in Halloween festivities, c.
