Better Facilities Improve Laboratories To facilitate the growing number of students in¬ terested in taking science courses and to fill the need for improved science facilities, new biology and chemistry laboratories were built this year. Several classrooms were combined to make these laboratories much larger than the previous laboratories. For those who wish to continue in a specialized field of study, senior high courses in biology, chem¬ istry, physics, and Advanced Placement Biology are offered. Chemistry Regents are still based on the state’s experimental course. Four new teachers have been added to this year’s staff. Mrs. Avis Reed is teaching junior high science. Mr. Tobias Polgreen is also a junior high science and math teacher. Mr. Willi n Ames and Mr. Thomas Kleeman teach senior high science: Mr. Ames took over the leadership of the physics classes and Mr. Kleeman is teaching Advanced Placement Biology and general science. Mr. Kleeman ponders his profession as a science teacher. As advisor of Chess Club, Mr. Croman aids Barry Kelly in a game of chess. 125
