No one seemed to have the Monday morning Ublahsf' Students were marveling at the enthusiastic signs and deco- rations in the halls. They spoke of the Homecoming activities with enthusiasm and a new vitality. As Thursday night became a reality, the community of Carmel united in the gym. Then each class per- formed a cheery skit symbolizing the coming defeat of the Madison Heights Pirates. The Iuniors presented a skit, t'Football Feud, that was a parody of a TV game show. lt won in the class skit competition. As the pep session came to a climax, Senior Shari Kilpatrick was crowned queen to reign over the Homecoming festivities. On Friday, under the shining midday sun, came the queen and her court, the spectacular class and club floats, the marching band-fifth in state-wide competition, and the Number-One-ranked Grey- hounds. Since September 22 had been declared Hug-A-Hound Day, both the team and the girls took advantage of the situation. That afternoon, school spirit became so overwhelming that school officials let T.G.l.F.'ers loose for the day. As the excited crowds of people packed the stands, school spirit reached its peak. The unde- feated Greyhounds burst from the locker room and entered the football field with awesome power. By half time, the Pirates had sunk into a sea of hopelessness. The final score was 50-0. On Saturday night, celebrating the Home- coming victory, students attended the dance sponsored by the C-Club. Live entertainment was provided by the band, 'tBald Ego. As the weekend came to a close, Seniors trea- sured their last memories of Homecoming, while the underclassmen dreamed of next year. 1.
