P ADAM J. LUPU Sometimes you can't help but wonder why things happen the way they do. Forever and a day, I'll be wondering why Adam was taken away from us. He had so much joy and love to offer the world. It is hard to believe how one person could possess so much warmth inside him. Adam meant so much to so many in such different ways. To some he was a tennis partner, to some a spirited viking, to some an ambitious stu- dent, but I think the one characteristic which related to every- one was his sense of humor. Adam had such a gift to make people laugh. To Adam, no obstacle was too great to over- come through laughter. He could make any pain lessen through his wit and charm. I think Adam believed that all the world's problems could be solved by having all peoples laugh in unison. If only we could laugh now. When Adam wasn,t telling a joke or working on our year- book, one could find him at the park. Adam loved to play sports, any sport. Most people might remember his as the captain of the tennis team but there was so much more to him. He loved every sport and conquered most with the greatest of ease. For those of us who were fortunate to have known him, Adam playing basketball in his faded jeans and tee-shirt is an image forever etched in our memories. Adam had so much promise and hope inside him. His eyes gleamed with the prospects of tomorrow. His heart was too big to exclude anyone, both friend and foe, and his celebration of life included everything. His spirit for life and his boundless energy lives on in all of us. If every man on this earth pos- sessed a fraction of the determination Adam had, no obstacle would be too huge to overcome. There was definitely a great injustice done when Adam was taken from this world. Maybe the Lord needed Adam with him, no one knows. One thing that is certain is that Adam J. Lupu A. J F' will live on forever in each and every one of us. He touched our lives in such a special way that no one ever will again. Whenever I think of Adam I wear a smile for I think of all the funny and loving things he did. I know that Adam would want us all to smile. After all, maybe Adam was right that laughter is the best medicine. One last note: Adam once wrote to me, I love you, but don't tell anyone. Well, Adam, I want to say on behalf of myself and the Class of ,Sl that we love you Adam J. Lupu and the whole damn world can know. You will always remain a major part of our lives. We miss you! Fran Zagari Class of '81 I A TRIBUTE TO ADAM LUPU Adam,s presence made us smile, he would not grieve in his absence. REMEMBER Remember me when I am gone away, Gone far away into the silent land, When you can no more hold me by the hand, Nor I half turn to go, yet turning stay. Remember me when no more. day by day, You tell me of our future that you planned, Only remember me, you understand It will be late to counsel then or pray. Yet if you should forget me for a while And afterwards remember, do not grieve, For if the darkness and corruption leave A vestige of the thoughts that once I had Better by far you should forget and smile Than that you should remember and be sad.
