There is something exciting about opening the pages of a book. When that book happens to be a pictorial resume of a year ' s undying experiences as these were captured in the context of an educational institution, the excitement grows. A student like any other person is faced with the two-fold task of learning to know himself, and learning to know his fellow-man. Known variously as the search for iden¬ tity , or the search for individuality of finding meaning in life , this quest knows its pitfalls, its dangers, and its rewards. A Christian institution operates on the assumption thal ' the search for identity can find its true fruition only as the spiritual dimension comes into its own — as God occupies His rightful place in a person ' s life. Man finds his true identity only as he sees himself over against his Creator, and he finds his true individuality only as he recognizes his responsibility to his brother, without whom he cannot live adequately before God. This search has become intense in recent years, for our time is not satisfied with easy answers that proved medi¬ ocre and that evaporated under the trials of life. Cliches no longer provide the solution, and time-honored terms and expressions must prove themselves before they are accepted as real. Such a condition, such a mind set, makes for innovations, new forms of expression, and new meanings put into old forms. The following pages depict some of these endeavours and help to reflect one chapter in the ongoing history of Canadian Mennonite Bible College. Henry Poett patrons peter j. e. Alumni Teachers To Know OUR LORD was called Teacher oftener than by any other title. The cross was His effective Lesson to all mankind for all time. The risen Christ “opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.” WE BELIEVE as His disciples that a seminary education is more than lectures, papers and exams. It is getting to know your teachers. Sharing with them. Exploring with them the frontier of ideas as col¬ leagues of Christ. As Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminaries you get to know the entire faculty as persons as well as scholars. AMBS has more teachers engaged in the widening dialogue of Anabaptist- Mennonite issues than any other place in the world. INVESTIGATE our programs leading to fully accredited degrees. Write to David Habegger, Admissions Counselor. You will receive a personal letter in reply.
