CALVARY .... WHERE LIFE BEGINS CALVARY Sand, rolling landscape. l-lot wind, softly blowing, fans the cheek of the lone figure. l'le stands gazing into the western sky. Sun is sinking among the purple hills. Silence-such silence-A leaf floats lazily by, The silhouetted figure stands long, then face lifts toward the sky, now aglow with numberless sparkling diamonds. Ah! the wonder of it all. The magni- tude. The majesty. And beyond these glories-GOD. ln the beginning God. Of such words, the finite mind fails in complete comprehension. And God said. These few words in the very beginning of the Scriptures so capture the mind, so thrill the soul that the Spirit is ever busy unfolding the meaning. It is as the breaking dawn. One sees vaguely, but as ever increasing light appears, objects become clearer. So as the Light of God opens and enlarges the vision, the wise follower of Christ walks in that Light. It is indeed with humble and grateful hearts that the students of Calvary College dedicate this first issue of The Covenanter to the Word of God-our Bible. ln this day of shifting sands, false doctrines and un- belief, the Bible is our safe retreat. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my word shall not pass away. These are the words of Jesus. Time cannot change them. Unbelief can have no effect. They stand secure -absolute. Therefore we not only dedicate this publication to the Word of God, but first give our own selves to God, the author of the Word. DEDICATICDN . . .
